It was a slightly cloudy but very warm summer evening.

Ravavik was playing in his favorite playground. He was having a good time. First, he practiced soccer tricks, then he ran and played on the slide and the swings.

When he got tired, he sat down on the bench to rest. Suddenly, he noticed something strange in the corner of the playground. He went to check what it was.

And it turned out it was… a monster!

The monster was round like a ball and had one big, menacing eye. He had horns on his head and spikes on his back. What’s worse, it was obvious that he was annoyed. The kitten got so scared that he turned white and screamed with terror. He wanted to run away and call his parents for help, but he saw that this scary monster was crying. How come? A monster crying? Monsters are scary, and they frighten others; they don’t cry, hidden in the corner.

Ravavik started wondering what had made this creature so sad. The kitten examined him more closely, and he decided that although the monster was completely different from Ravavik, his family, and his friends, maybe he was not so scary after all.

The little Viking always tries to help and support others if he sees them in a foul mood. That’s why, although he was a bit frightened, he decided to do something. So, he stepped closer to the monster.

“Hello! Why are you crying? What’s wrong?” asked Ravavik in a concerned tone. “Oh dear!” cried the monster. “You scared me!” “Me? I scared you?” asked Ravavik, surprised. “What a joke! Monsters are scary; I am only a kitten.” “Well… that’s the point…” the monster replied, and he started crying again.

Ravavik’s universe
